I am currently getting my MBA at Western Governors University and my first term ends on 4/30/2020. I have already completed 3 classes and just this morning, I submitted my final paper for my 4th class. That way, if it comes back for some revisions, I have plenty of time to fix it. If not, then I will have a few weeks off where I can relax, write, and read books. My second term starts on 5/01/2020 and that first class is Accounting.
I can’t believe that back in November, when I first started my MBA, I wanted to quit! But, I didn’t and now I am rolling! I have a good routine down; I do about an hour of work every evening after Niko is sleeping. And, the material is interesting to me and I am enjoying learning new things.
The class I am just finishing now is Marketing and right now, it’s a great time to be in Marketing because you have to come up with new ways to get your product (whether it be food or supplies) to the customer and at the same take care of the local community.
As for my work, I have been in the office on-site everyday, but last week, an employee who works on the 3rd floor of my building (I work on the 1st floor), tested positive for the Corona Virus. Have I been exposed? I don’t know, but my gut says yes. Will I get it? I don’t know. Will my wife and son get it? I don’t know. So, with all that being said, my managers are working diligently to get our printing functions to another group and having the three of us who have stayed in the office since this whole thing started, to be working from home by this week.
A few weeks ago before everybody in my group was working from home, I tested my remote access and it worked. Last Thursday, I tested it again and it didn’t work. So, on Friday, I brought my laptop to work and was able to get it to work. Now, don’t laugh, but I had to actually work on my laptop for a few hours that morning because my desktop was having connection issues!
When I do start to work from home, it will take me time to get used to it, but it will be very nice to be with my family.
