We Are GOOD

Posted on 03/22/202004/19/2025 by Mark

Nina and Niko are having lots of new adventures at home; from drawing to building blocks to looking for ladybugs in the backyard to cooking to relaxing to watching Facebook live videos of various places and things to do all around the world.

I always take Niko out on the weekends since that is my only extended time with him and it also gives Nina some peace and quiet at home. I like going out with Niko, but it’s been nice being home with him this weekend and last weekend; especially since we saving money by not going out. Niko helped me pull weeds in the backyard; I have a tool and Niko uses a wrench, we vacuumed together, we did laundry together, we did lots of playing, and we watched movies and cartoons.

School is going good for me and everything I do is online, so I am not having to change anything. I am currently writing my Marketing assignment and plan on submitting it on April 3rd. If it come backs for revisions, I have plenty of time to do it as I have till April 30th to finish it. Then, on May 1st, I can start my 2nd term at WGU for my MBA.

Oh, Niko is doing awesome in not wearing diapers at nighttime as he has had only 1 pee accident since we started this 2 weeks ago. And, a few days ago, we took the baby lock off his door. He wakes up in the morning, turns on his light, open his door, and has a therapy session with his stuffed animals for a few minutes. He doesn’t run around the house or go up and down the stairs; at least not yet. I guess it’s my daddy instincts as I know when he is awake; I can hear and watch him on the baby monitor. If he does leave his room, I can always tell where he is because I can hear his feet on the carpet.

Last year, we took Niko to the pool at our amenity center and he seemed to enjoy it the first few times, but then we never went back. It was also around that time when he insisted on always wearing pants and a long sleeve shirt (in the summer) and getting him in a bathing suit was extremely difficulty and full of screaming! This year, we have been repeating to him that this summer, he will be wearing shorts and t-shirts. A few weeks ago, the pool opened up and the three of of went and yes, Niko was very compliant and wore a bathing suit and a long sleeve rash-guard shirt. And, he loved it! Niko and I went again a few days later and again, he really enjoyed it. The three of went again last Sunday and we there for almost 90 minutes. Then, a few days later, the HOA closed everything down. Just this morning, Niko told me he really wanted to go to the pool and I said I know and as soon as the pool is re-opened, we will go. In the meantime, Nina ordered a small blow-up pool for him and it will be here on Wednesday.

As far as my work, I was granted access to work from home and it works. A few days ago, I logged on to look and then logged off immediately right afterwards! The majority of my co-workers are working from home, but I will be one of three employees who will be going into the office to perform not only our job functions, but also the job functions of some other departments. I know my family wants me at home and I would love to be at home, but at the same time, my managers chose wisely as I and my two other co-workers are ready to do what needs to be done. Last week, they provided free food from the cafeteria and that was very nice.

I am taking care of myself by doing everything everybody is preaching.

If I am feeling ever so slightly sick, I won’t procrastinate. I will stay home.

My birthday is April 23rd and usually, it consists of eating out. But, this year, we will order take-out from somewhere and have a quiet celebration at home with just immediate family; if they are feeling good.

Hopefully, we can get back to normal in a few weeks because Niko’s 4th birthday is May 2nd.
