After being off work since January 29th, I go back this Wednesday. On that day, my team is having a birthday potluck; so I have to bring donuts and candy. It’s good that I won’t have to think on Tuesday night about what I need to bring to eat for Wednesday. I just need to remember to set my alarm, get my clothes selected the night before, brush my teeth, brush my hair, and put on deodorant. I will shower and shave the night before.
Nina is doing good in her recovery from surgery and Niko and I are having a wonderful time together. It’s the most time we have spent together alone and I really like it.
I actually know for a fact that the days I took Niko out in the world, he was worn out when we arrived home. Some of the places we went were the Texas Transportation Museum, the DoSeum (which is the children’s museum in San Antonio), the San Antonio Fire Museum, Target, Costco, and Rivercenter Mall. We also had Mexican food (multiple times), Costco food, and Chinese food (multiple times). One of the Chinese restaurants we went to (I won’t name it), Niko said it smelled bad, like someone was taking a poop. The smell was so overwhelming to him that he had to leave.
I enjoyed taking him out and we have a big day planned for tomorrow at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. Right now, it looks like heavy rains for tomorrow so our plans may be delayed till either Tuesday or next Monday (it’s a bank holiday).
One of the things I purchased from Target was 2 small plastic water-guns and I told Niko that we can only use them in the backyard and the shower/bath. So, we have had several water-gun battles and he always wins, because he takes mine from me. Who knew something for less than $5.00 was such a hit with him; well, I know what he likes to play with and water is one of them.
On Friday, we stayed at home; we both needed an easy relaxation day. For most of the day, Niko put coins in a box and took them out about 10,000 times. I was able to do some school and daddy writing which was very nice and vacuumed the entire house.
My mom and brother each have birthdays in the first week of February, so yesterday, Niko and I met my parents and brother for a Chinese lunch. Can you tell my favorite food is Chinese? I am easy as I like lo-mein noodles and so does Niko! Afterwards, we went to my brothers house, mainly to see his new puppy and to let Niko play some of the musical instruments. I am sure that Niko would’ve loved to stay longer, but it was getting late and I wanted to get us home. But, Niko wanted a Jamba Juice, so we stopped for a drink for him and for Nina. I am not a fan of smoothies. And, he really wanted to use some of his change to pay for it and I allowed it; he had 2 $1.00 bills and I told him to hand to the gal at the register and say thanks. Yeah, it was more than that so I had to use my money for the rest of it.
When Nina had another surgery last November, I was looking forward to taking Niko out to do things, but he got sick. So, he just rested in bed with Nina and I sat on a chair watching them both relax with their iPad’s. I read my book on my Kindle and did some school writing.
It’s very nice that I am a semi-responsible semi-mature adult and don’t need my mommy and daddy to come over and clean everything up nor do I need to call for a house cleaning service.
Hey, the house is intact, the laundry is caught up, the kitchen is cleaned, the trash is in bags in the big garbage cans, the cat has clean kitty litter, fresh food, and fresh water, we have eaten hot foods that have been easy to prepare, the milk is not rotten, we have lots of eggs for breakfast, the plants and trees have all been watered, and my school work got done slowly in the evenings after Niko is sleeping. And, everybody is clean!
It’s been really nice that I was able to sleep later than normal, but still not long enough. And, I have had the bed to myself since Nina is recovering and sleeping in a recliner.
