When you plan something a month in advance and you finish it on time. That was the case for my 2nd class in my MBA.
I am proud of myself because I am motivated to be successful in my studies and have enjoyed learning new things that will help me down the road. Yes, it’s also hard work because I study in the evenings as I usually start around 7:30 pm and end around 9 or 9:30 pm. As I told my program mentor, once my eyes get sleepy, I am done. No sense to stay up.
And, all of this is done after I work a full-day at Chase; I have actually been doing overtime for an hour in the morning before my normal 7:30 am work shift. And, since last July, I have been getting up either at midnight, 1 am, or 3 am, so Niko can pee and get a new diaper. And, my alarm for work is set for 5 am.
For the past few days, it’s been 3 am; we are testing out a theory to see of he will sleep a little bit later and so far, he has. I am very glad that I can go back to sleep in less than 5 minutes. I actually told my parents last weekend, that I would love to take a 10 hour nap with no interference from anybody; yeah, I am tired, but I won’t publicly complain about it. When I tell people about it, I always say, “YOU DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO FOR THE FAMILY.” I am even more glad that Niko can go right back to sleep. When I go in his room to get him, it takes him a minute or two to wake-up and be alert enough to either crawl or walk in to the bathroom. He knows the drill and he is very compliant with me. After he is done peeing, he gets a quick slug of a drink from the mini fridge in our office and puts it back when he is done. Then, it’s back to sleeping position. Before I leave him, I always ask him if he is OK and and I always tell him I love you; his replies are always I am OK and I love you too dad and shut the door!
In October, November, and December, I was keeping track of my study times on a spreadsheet. But once 2020 arrived, I have been using my 2020 mini monthly planner and I will continue to use it throughout the year. It helps me be a little more detailed on what I am doing. It also helps that each course has a COURSE ROAD MAP for each week and that really helps plan the entire course out.
I just started my 3rd class in my MBA yesterday. Nina has another surgery at the end of this month. Per my course road map, I will be finishing my 3rd week assignments at that particular time, but I am hoping I can be finished with those assignments and start the writing assessment. Writing is very easy for me and once I get going, I am hard to stop. For my first class, I actually had to take a lot out of my writings. Yes, I am planning on taking a few days off from school and already have 2 weeks of vacation scheduled to take care of her and Niko. After she is mobile, we may try no diaper for Niko for night-time and we will go in twice a night; Nina will get one shift and I will get one shift.
