It was a really good year for me…
I got a new job at the bank, we sold our house, we purchased a new one, I started my MBA at WGU, and we booked a real vacation for next year to celebrate a birthday and anniversary milestone.
As far as my dad body image, I have lost a few pounds so whatever I am doing is working and I am planning on keep on doing it. I have struggled eating for the past few weeks, but as soon as 2020 hits, I will make it my resolution to eat healthier again. Basically, I need to stop eating pasta, bread, fried food, and junk food. I know I can do it as I want to be healthy; not only for me, but for my wife and son. I want to be with them for a long long long time. I am drinking a lot of water and gave up the flavored packets of drink mix several weeks ago and I gave up soda a few years ago. Occasionally, I will get myself a soda, but I merely get it for the coldness of it; not to to keep me alert. I am so glad I don’t drink coffee; Starbucks just makes me feel out of place and I am extremely confused by everything on the menu.
As far as being a dad to a three and a half year old, it’s fun and extremely rewarding with a little bit of frustration thrown in when he doesn’t get what he wants. He screams loud and cries buckets. I don’t like it and sometimes, I give in and give him what he wants. But, hopefully that phase will end soon because it stresses me out. He asks a lot of intriguing questions and I have to answer them all day long! For the past few Saturday’s, I have been letting him call the shots as to what me and him do. Yesterday, he wanted to visit a specific Barnes and Nobles because they have escalators and a little train set to play with. Afterwards, I gave him a choice of pizza or Cheesecake Factory for lunch; he chose Cheesecake Factory.
As far as being a husband to the most beautiful woman in the world, I am so lucky we found each other. Thank you Washington Mutual Bank; yeah, we me at work. I just need to find ways to spend more time with Nina alone; right now, we see each other for a few minutes when I come home from work, after we put Niko to bed, and a few minutes on Saturdays before she goes to work. By the time I am done with my schoolwork, she is already in bed and sleeping. So, I will be scheduling monthly dates with her in the year 2020; my parents will be the babysitters for Niko while we do things without him. It’s always nice and quiet, but we also always miss him.
As far as me, I am doing good. I am getting used to working my full-time job, coming home and being a dad and a husband for a few hours, and then when Niko is in his bed preparing for sleep, I can take care of me by eating, drinking, and doing school work. My weekends are nice because I get to spend a lot of time with Niko as Nina works on Saturday’s and cooks on Sunday’s. During my first MBA class, I did do some school work throughout the day on the weekends, because it was writing two papers. My second class is a textbook I am reading, so I can’t do it during the day.
Don’t laugh, but I brought myself a mini 2020 monthly planner; you know for school, so I can keep track of my times studying and other important dates for school.
Well, that is all I got. Please be safe on New Years Eve and if you need help putting a fire out because of fireworks, Niko has been practicing being a fireman for a long time. He has the hat, the uniform, sunglasses, a hose, a red truck, and the noise.
