Last Tuesday, I was finally able to start my orientation at WGU and I was excited. I made myself a really comfortable spot on the sofa, had food, had water, my Acer Chromebook, and a plush laptop pillow. From where I was perched, I had a great view of lightening from a thunderstorm that eventually came a few hours later. It was also nice because I did it in the evening after I put Niko to sleep; this is when I will be doing the majority of my schoolwork.
In addition to my Chromebook, I also have an older iMac that I got my from cousin Rachel and her son Gabe.
On Wednesday, I bookmarked a lot of handy links on the iMac and made sure it passed the technology requirements at WGU and it did; my Chromebook didn’t pass because of the operation system, but I will still use it. Even though both have webcams, I purchased a free standing webcam that was highly recommended by WGU.
On Thursday, I did my written assessment from my orientation and now, I wait for November 1st; which is my official start date. Next week, I have my first call with my program mentor and probably my final call with my enrollment counselor.
I was planning on doing schoolwork during his naps on the weekends, but he isn’t napping anymore. Right now, Niko relaxes but he wants either Nina or I to be with him and this usually lasts a few hours. So, Nina and I will have to figure this out so we can both have some time to do stuff. We are open for ideas, PLEASE!
