Assembling Things

Posted on 05/11/201904/19/2025 by Mark

I am not handy by any means, but I am proud to say that I assembled bookcases, a trash composter, a play kitchen, an outdoor table, and a night table. I am a very good direction follower and enjoy the end results.

Yes, it’s challenging when Niko helps because he tends to take my screwdriver or something else that I need. But, at the same time, he is fun company as we talk a lot during the assembly.

As for hanging stuff like shelves and curtains, I would much rather screw than drill and that is why I got Nina; she is my driller plus, I am stronger then her. She marked where some studs were so I could attach our tall bookcases to the wall; mainly so they won’t fall on Niko.  Niko is very strong and very curious about everything.

Any type of electrical work like hanging ceiling fans, I let the pros do it and this week, one of our handy neighbors will be doing that for us.

Tomorrow, another one of our handy neighbors will be mowing the lawn. I know I could do it, but why should I have to? I got better things to do like nap, assemble things, or play with Niko.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, I am a master kitchen cleaner, an experienced trash man, a seasoned cat litter cleaner, an awesome dad to Niko, and a fantastic husband to Nina.
