It’s hard! Mainly, because he wants to play and look at everything. And, some of the stuff is fragile! But, at the same time, he is also extremely helpful as he helps us put stuff away or carry light boxes upstairs. Plus, some of the boxes we have been unpacking are clothes and toys from a younger Niko and it’s fun watching current Niko interact with them.
One of the first things we did when we moved in was to make sure Niko’s room was good to go; and it was! I was very glad that on the 1st night in his bedroom, he slept! Nina and I were expecting to have a baby sleeping with us most of that night.
Niko now has his own bathroom and he is really enjoying it; he brushes his teeth on his own, pees on his own, poops on his own, and shuts the door so the cat can’t get in. I still hang out when I bathe him in the evenings, but I do give him the shower head and let him play with it and tell him where the soap goes on his body and he understands. My boss is growing up.
Nina and I have already donated a lot of stuff and more stuff is being donated as we unpack boxes. In case you didn’t know, I am a Beatles fan and have been for 29 years; so, basically, I have a lot of Beatles things. And, for the first time, I am donating some of my Beatles posters. In a few weeks when I unpack my fragile Beatles items, I will have to make a choice! Because, I don’t have a safe place for everything.
In case you’re wondering, we are about half unpacked. If anybody wants to help me put stuff together that we purchased from IKEA, Amazon, and other places, I will buy you food! And, if it’s really hot outside, I can take you as my guest to our beautiful amenity center which includes a pool!
