According to Wikipedia, it’s a child development stage which normally occurs around the age of two (but can start earlier) and consists of toddlers often saying no and throwing temper tantrums.
Well, welcome to my life as Niko is 2 years old and for the past few weeks, he has been showcasing his ability to say no or not yet and small temper tantrums when he doesn’t get what he wants. He has also been a lot more aggressive with me as he throws things at me, hits me, and tests my patience. And, I will admit and tell you I scream loud when he hurts me; that’s just my natural reaction. At least, I don’t curse!! I get upset and did yell at him for the 1st time a few days ago, but I told him why I yelled and what he did to provoke it. It’s almost impossible to punish him because of his age. I would never do anything to hurt him to make him stop doing something.
I just need to figure a way to deal with it and not get stressed out or frustrated. I really don’t want him to see me under this kind of stress and pressure. If that means, I take a 30-second time out away from him, then I will do that.
You know what makes up for everything? Baby laughter and I get a lot of it with Niko.
