Yesterday, I took Niko into San Antonio for food and play! I wanted to do something different because he was just in New Braunfels on Friday and last Saturday, we were in New Braunfels. Yes, New Braunfels is the closest city to us and where we live in Canyon Lake, there isn’t anything we can do unless we had a boat!
I do it in the morning as soon as he gets up; mainly because it’s cooler and also I can get home in time for a nap in his crib rather than the car.
I know I can do it alone and have done so in the past, but I enjoy having company and that company is aways my parents. Nina and I are in need of friends our ages who have children.
So, Niko and I met my parents at Max and Louies New York Diner; if you ask Nina, I have been talking about that restaurant for a few weeks. See, that is how I satisfy a food craving! I am also craving a Mexican restaurant in downtown San Antonio, but the food may have changed when the ownership changed hands and also a Chinese restaurant where I can get fried dumplings and lomein noodles! I am by no means a food reviewer critic, but the salami and cheese omelette I had wasn’t as good as I though it should be. Niko enjoyed his scrambled eggs, bagels with cream cheese, bacon, and the side of fruit I substituted instead of fried potatoes. Niko was sitting on my lap at the restaurant, but asked to sit in between his grandma and grandpa in the booster seat and I was happy to give in; man, you should’ve seen how happy my parents were.
After breakfast, we went to Hardberger Park to play, walk around, watch the doggies in the dog park area, and pet some doggies if they were on leashes and if the owners were cool with that; which they all were. Don’t worry, Niko asked very nicely and all the people we encountered were happy to let a baby pet there dogs.
Lastly, on the way home, we picked up a very large grocery order at the store. We had to run in the store because Niko told me he had to poop. We went into the family bathroom and he had a meltdown; probably he was tired! So, he didn’t do anything but I managed to get a diaper on him just in case something happened. He did calm down once I got him back in the car and started driving. When we arrived home, Nina took him out and they went upstairs for breastmilk and a nap. We didn’t personally get our groceries as we ordered online and had somebody else shop for us and they even put them in the back for us; super awesome service! I brought everything in, unpacked it, and put mostly everything away; all before Nina came back down a few minutes later.
Had I known that Niko would nap for almost 3 hours; I must’ve really tired him out, I would’ve napped also, but I had other things to do. I had to wake him up at 4:30pm!!
Back to the imaginary poop…something was indeed brewing and it finally came out before we went upstairs for nighttime. I will blame breakfast because I also had some poops afterwards. Oh, Niko’s poop was again on the big toilet; we haven’t used his little potty for a poop in a few weeks. Niko laughs when he hears the poop hit the water; we call it plop plop!
Next Saturday, I may have to take him to Costco for special crackers; that being animal crackers! He asked for this on the drove into town.
