On Wednesday evening and as I was thinking about finally getting ready to sit down; mainly to eat dinner, and enjoy some peace and quiet time, I reminisced about all the things I did that evening. I don’t want to brag about how awesome I am; I just did! And, I know my wife always appreciates everything I do.
So, after I arrived home from a long day at work, Niko peed on me; it was a lot of pee and I was surprised. Yes, he was pantless and I probably should’ve expected it, but I really thought he could hold it till we got outside. We made it just outside the door. All I could do was laugh and my wife offered to go upstairs and fetch me clean clothes; I obliged because I was drenched in pee.
A few minutes later, I had a screaming baby who didn’t want to get in the highchair for dinner. It took me several tries to finally succeed.
After dinner, I took him upstairs for bath time. Again, I had a screaming naked baby in the bathtub telling me no bath. I got him a little bit wet and that was all. It was probably the shortest bath in Niko’s life; actually, I lied. One time, I put him in the bathtub and as soon as I put him in, he was done.
Despite the screaming, I got a very cuddly baby and I read him Green Eggs and Ham. At one point in the book, he looked up at me and I looked down at him; our eyes met and he laughed and called me funny! Nina arrived a few minutes later and read him more books and he got some milk.
While Nina and Niko were dining and talking to each other, I shaved with my fancy dollar shave club supplies and showered; its nice stuff and it smells good. I may try the shampoo and conditioner as I already like the liquid soap and shaving butter. After that, I gave Nina and I a new sheet and pillow cases, I folded laundry, I ran a load in the wash, I picked up all the trash, I gathered my clothes for the next day, and I waited for Niko and Nina to finish so I could give him a kiss goodnight. Most nights, I put him down for nighttime, but sometimes he wants his momma.
As soon as I know Niko was sleeping; which only takes a few minutes, I headed downstairs to continue the gathering of trash and took it to the curb, I cleaned the kitchen, I ran the dishwasher, I made breakfast and prepared lunch for me for the following day.
I ate dinner which was actually leftover breakfast tacos; because I made too much, and I sat down and surfed the internet. I was window shopping at Flag and Anthem and texting Nina to see if I would look good in red jeans! And, I wrote a little bit.
At 9pm, I was done and went upstairs to read for a few minutes in bed on my new Kindle Paperwhite; the phone is turned off except for the baby camera. Finally, at 9:30pm, I am done reading and I am already asleep.
You may be asking yourself, can’t Nina help? No, she is working and when I come home, that is the only time she gets to work, eat, and relax on her own. She has him all day. She does come upstairs to feed him milk and read him books.
