Sick Parents

Posted on 02/08/201804/19/2025 by Mark

Last weekend, Nina’s back was hurty again; it happens a few times a year, and I had a cold; I felt it coming Friday evening.  Poor Niko also had what I had!  As of this posting, everybody is almost healthy.

So, basically, on  Saturday, while Nina worked and sat in an uncomfortable chair, I bundled myself up and took care of Niko. It was just two sick guys hanging out together!  Nina did make a trip to the drugstore to get me medication and on Sunday, Niko and I went to the same drugstore to get more medication for me.

Even though I complained a lot about how I felt, I somehow managed to still be a fun dad and husband.  I also slept on the downstairs sofa on Sunday and Monday, so Nina could get some uninterrupted sleep without me coughing and blowing my nose. I am very glad the cat didn’t snuggle up with me; he has his own warm spots, but he did get on me for my last 30 minutes before I had to get up.
