Last month, I had my annual physical and I passed with flying colors. I have dropped 25 pounds; and still losing weight, since last September.
What is my secret? Well, the truth is I have a 15 month old baby and I don’t have time to eat. I would rather starve, suffer, and sleep than eat. I am just kidding folks. I eat plenty!
I am exercising and my biggest motivational tool for that is my Samsung Gear Fit 2 activity tracker. The main things I track are steps, floors, and water intake. If I don’t meet my goals of 11,000 steps and 10 floors, I don’t come home and go up and down the stairs to satisfy it. I do what I can and most of the time, I am really close or I meet my goals. It even tells me when I have been sitting still for a long period of time.
I also have had less than 10 drinks; soda not alcohol, since last September. I think that is one of the biggest factors of my weight loss because I used to drink a lot and when I say a lot, I really mean it.
I am eating healthier food like fruits and vegetables and my portions are much smaller.
I am eating a lot less fast food. I used to eat it 2 or 3 times a week; it was so quick to drive thru somewhere. I knew it was bad, but it was yummy. I had absolutely no clue how many calories everything was. Now, I eat it like once every few weeks. Yesterday at work, my entire team ordered Chick-fil-A and the smell was so intoxicating that I had to take my lunch in the café at work; just to escape the chicken smell. The last time I had Chick-fil-A was 4 months ago.
One of the upsides to all this is I have to get new clothes. I have already purchased blue jeans, khaki pants, shorts, and short sleeve polo shirts. But, more is always needed so next month, I will order my 1st Stitch Fix box and I will let my wife pick clothes for me which will all be a surprise me. I am planning on videoing my reaction; probably will only be for my wife’s co-workers eyes. I know for a fact that one of the items she will choose will be a pair of tighter blue jeans; mainly cause she likes my rear end.
I do have a magic weight goal number in mind and I am actually getting close to it. Once I hit it, I am not planning on going back to my old way. I want to continue doing what I am doing. I just hope my weight can stay within that number and not go too much less to make me look sick.
I feel and look good as a 4o year old.
