Sunday Will Never Be The Same Again (at least for a little while)

Posted on 05/26/201704/19/2025 by Mark

I should’ve named this one ODE TO THE WIFE PART 3, but I have always liked the song, “SUNDAY WILL NEVER BE THE SAME,” by Spanky and our Gang (Google it after you read all of my words).  Plus, that song is more authentic to what I wrote.

Now that I am thinking about it, I can easily write and ODE TO THE WIFE every day for the rest of my life because she does so much for me, the baby, and the cat and she doesn’t get enough thanks from us.  It is very possible that meow means thanks and all the words Niko is saying mean thanks.  As for me, I tell her daily how awesome she is and that I lover her very much and she gets lots of hugs and kisses throughout the day from me.

I don’t know about you, but I am ready to finish my introduction.

My wife has been working from home as a Stylist for StitchFix.com since March.  How she finds the time with a 1 year old child and a 13 year old cat, I have no clue!

Actually, I do know and it starts on Sundays as she works 4 to 5 hours (right now, she is only working 15 hours a week).  I don’t complain because I get to hang out with Niko and I love that.  I am the type of dad who gets down and dirty when it comes to playing and I have more fun than Niko.  We take walks together and I tell him lots of stuff; hopefully, he won’t tell Nina; I feed him his breakfast, lunch, and dinner; and I put him down for naps.  Time for me doesn’t exist!  Normally, I can relax when he naps, but there is always something that needs to be done (whether it be folding laundry or writing).

When I come home from work on the weekdays, Nina needs about an hour more to finish up and I am happy to give her that time.  She does work when he naps, but I know she also needs some relaxing time.  Her work is usually completed by Thursday so she can take Friday and Saturday off.  Then, Sunday comes again…

I am glad she is working and the extra money is very nice, but I will be honest and tell you I also really miss her and sometimes, I think about our life before her job.
