This morning, I had some Daddy alone time (without the baby and wife) and although it was very nice to be out in the world, I missed my family and couldn’t wait to get back home. I did take her Dad out for lunch and we left Mom and Son at home a few weeks ago, but this was my first adventure out by myself as a father. Actually, I did leave Nina and Niko in the hospital for an hour to pick up food and stuff from Target (but, I think I was in my Ambien take-over because I wasn’t alert nor smart).
I am really looking forward to having a Daddy day out with my son without Nina and as soon as he will take a bottle, I can do that. I need to get Nina some sleep because it feels like she is constantly feeding the baby and not getting enough sleep (oh, I need sleep also so maybe Nina can take baby out and leave me home). Hey, she did give me some nap time in the bedroom without her and Niko a few weekends ago (I got like 2 hours of sleep and it was awesome). I try my best to give Nina some alone nap time, but the baby has different ideas.
So, now you’re probably wondering what was so important for me to do without wife and baby supervision? Well, I will attempt to amuse you. I had to get gas in my car, I had to get my car inspected so I could renew my registration, I got a much needed haircut (this took an hour), I withdrew money from the bank (I have had zero dollars in my wallet for a few weeks, thank goodness for debit and credit cards), I got diapers, and I got bad fast breakfast food.
When I did arrive home, I was so happy to see Nina breastfeeding Niko — it is always a beautiful thing to see. It was back to reality when Niko finished as I morphed back into my Dad role by changing his diaper and holding him.
