I am truly amazed that the female body (with a little help from a man or artificial insemination) can create a human being from the time 2 cells meet. For some, it may take time or it could happen on the first date.
In utero, that human being instinctively knows that around Week 30, they need to rotate their bodies so they face down toward the vagina. Nina knows when this happened with Niko as he was very active for about 45 minutes and he kicked her ribs for a finale and that hurt.
Now let’s get back to the female body as it knows when to so start contracting muscles to assist in that human beings’ arrival to the world. Nina’s contractions started at 4 am on Sunday which would have been day 1 of Week 39. As I was watched her wince and moan in pain, I couldn’t help but think that there are some females who have to do this alone and that should never happen.
I was planning to stay at Nina’s head during the delivery, but I was pushing (not to get that human being out), but against her right leg and she resisted me a little bit (she is a strong woman). So, from where I stood, I was at a great vantage point to watch all the action and I must say, that it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.
Everything happened so fast and without hesitation, I cut the umbilical cord; I cried tears of happiness in front of my wife for the first time; and I witnessed first-hand the skin-to-skin mother baby moment. Niko knew immediately who Nina was and within a matter of minutes, he found the nipple for breastfeeding.
Watching my son and wife bond at that moment and every moment afterwards, makes me say THANK YOU FOR THE FEMALE BODY. YOU ARE GREATLY UNDERAPPRECIATED. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.
