On Tuesday, I used my last day of vacation very wisely as me, Nina, and her mom went to an ultrasound appointment.  Well, not me and not her mom.  Although, I did volunteer to take the place of my wife but all they would’ve seen is a 38 year old stomach with no baby, just food that I have consumed recently.

I thought I was going to cry when I saw Oscar, but that didn’t happen.  I did get teary eyed.  Man, I better cry when he is born or I am going to have do some major soul searching for something that will make me cry.  I didn’t even cry when my uncle George died in 2010 which was also the first time I saw a dead body.  Happy thoughts Mark…this is The Daddy Diaries, not the Death Diaries!!!

The ultrasound technician was pointing lots of things on the monitor and although I couldn’t quite tell what everything was since it was a teeny blurb, I did clearly see his heart beating, his head, his legs, his arms, his neck, his back, but no penis yet!!   This is the last time we will see him till he is born!!!
