Bracket FINALLY got Busted

Posted on 04/09/201311/04/2025 by Mark
My NCAA Basketball Tournament Bracket was finally busted as the team I picked to win lost last night to the Louisville Cardinals.

Yes, folks, I am talking about the University of Michigan Wolverines.  I gotta be brutally honest, I just picked them out of thin air.  I didn’t watch hoards and hoards of college basketball games writing down stats and putting everything in a massive spreadsheet to come up with a winner.  I did the exact opposite…I actually don’t even recall watching a single college basketball game.  Yeah, I am serious!!! I got a life.  I have jobs.  I have a wife.  I also have a BLOG that needs lots of loving!!

Talk about the wife…I was a good husband and let her watch a reality show(I am imagining everybody googling right this instant to see if they can find out the name of it!!!  Good luck…I am not naming a network or giving any other hints cause she may be embarrassed about admitting it!!!).   But as soon as she left the living room, I was all over the remote and CBS.

So, all I knew about Michigan was they had Glen Robinson Jr, Tim Hardaway JR, and an outstanding point guard in Trey Burke…thank you ESPN for that wealth of knowledge.

Dude, Glen Robinson and Tim Hardaway are two extremely talented ex-NBA players and there sons got the family talent.  Pretty sweet!!  What would’ve happened if I got the talent of my Dad?

Do you remember when Glen Robinson played for the San Antonio Spurs in 2005?  He helped us win the 2005 NBA Championship.  Way back in 1994, I wrote, “The Sports Jester.”   It was just funny sports writing (I did revitalize it on my BLOG with new stories and look forward to adding more).  Well, one of the first stories was about Glen Robinson and how he asked for an unprecedented (but very common now) a 10 year – 100 million dollar contract as a rookie!!!  My rule back then…”All Rookies must get the same amount of money with a two year contract.  After two years, they can ask for more money or seek a new a team.“

Man, I remember watching Tim Hardaway when he played for the Golden State Warriors.  Along with Mitch Richmond and Chris Mullin, the three of them were nicknamed Run TMC!!!

Okay…so who are my favorite Michigan Wolverines ex-NBAer’s?  Gosh, so many to choose from, but I gotta go with (in no particular order):

Chris Webber

Jalen Rose

Glen Rice

Rudy Tomjanovich (I wasn’t alive when he played for Michigan, so I am going by his coaching credentials)

Sean Higgins (former Spur)

Loy Vaught

Juwan Howard (still in the NBA)

Maurice Taylor

Robert Traylor

That could be an All-Star team for the ages!!!
